Lady GaGa receives Judy Garland’s ruby slippers from the Wizard of Oz for her birthday

At last night’s Birthday Ball in Los Angeles, Lady GaGa showed the crowd the pair of original ruby slippers from the Wizard of Oz that she received as a birthday present. They were worn by Judy Garland in the classic movie, and GaGa told a story about when she appeared in the Wizard of Oz in school when she was younger. Check out the amazing video above!

    Hope you don’t REALLY believe those are movie worn rubies…Check the heels on these & the ones from the movie…yours are obviously repros…If you have handled the one of the REAL pairs in the manner you did these, they would have fallen apart…

    @Suzifire: there were about 7 (I say about because some have been lost over time) pairs of ruby slippers actually worn by Judy Garland in the Wizard of Oz… some were meant to be dance shoes, some for close ups, etc. So yes, it is possible that this is a real pair.

    Ahhh, that would be NO. The ONE and only ORIGINALS are in the Smithsonian. All others IN existence were NOT worn by Ms.Garland. Nice try, though. ;-)
