The last U.S. Monster Ball and its very special Virgin Mobile phone call

Our friend Tim, who you little monsters may know from BlueBerryKissMe.com, was fortunate enough to become the last ever little monster to receive a phone call from Lady GaGa after winning the Virgin Mobile contest. Here is his amazing story:
I won the very last phone call from Lady Gaga during the Monster Ball, at the last U.S. tour date.. (Wednesday, April 27).
I’d been to the Monster Ball twice before, and I’d seen tons of videos of fans winning the call. This was the last night EVER for this contest, and I didn’t want to be another typical fan crying over how much I love her. I told her a story about my pop-hating mom singing “Judas” with me, and then I asked her to remember “Every time a monster feels your bravery for them, an eternal bravery is created for you.” It was my own personal response to the preview of the HBO Monster Ball special where Gaga is crying about needing to remain brave for her fans. The impact of my words led her to tears (as well as the Virgin Mobile girls around me), and knowing I could inspire her bravery in any shape or size, for any amount of time, was the greatest moment of my life so far. Our phone call meant more to me than meeting her.
One of the main Virgin Mobile girls was still crying over my phone call when she asked me if I collected things, then ripped the “wings” off of another VM girl and gave them to me.
At the beginning of “Paparazzi,” I was led backstage. At the end of the song, I was given the opportunity to lower the stage curtain. I was told I am the only fan who has ever lowered the curtain during the Monster Ball, and that since I was the last winner I am the only one who ever will. I had already played such a great part of the show, so having anything to do with the backstage production of it was just… I was speechless.
I met Justin Tranter for a third time, Starlight for a fourth time, I spotted Luc, and then Gaga herself. We hugged, she thanked me. She signed my ticket and a CD of pictures that Virgin Mobile had taken of me, and she recorded a video for my website, BlueberryKissMe.com . It was only a few minutes, but the time didn’t matter. The phone call mattered. Meeting her was a bonus.
